Acidica Perfumes

The idea of Elements collection appeared long ago. The concept of basic elements - Fire, Air, Water, Earth inspires and fascinates. In European tradition there are only four of them. The Chinese philosophy Yi Jing uses another set of elements: Metal and Wood instead of Air. The Elements collection by Acidica Perfumes includes the elements of both traditions: Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Blade (instead of Metal). Such a synthesis conveys the spirit of modern times: nowadays the traditional systems and communities unite and share their parts to create new and original for prosperity and survival.

The main idea of the collection is to show the recognizable and easy to understand spirit of each of the elements, the core, the inner self that makes them attractive and unique.

The Elements

Fire

Watercolor by Elena Pilgun
Description: 100% natural, woody, musky

Main notes: vetiver, cedarwood, smoke, rockrose, immortelle

This fire is vital, rebellous and hot. Smoke, musky notes and dry wood picture dancing flame in the camping far away in the mountains. Or maybe this is the fireplace in the small hut and tired travelers sit beside it and tell their stories to each other.

Feedback on Fire

"Fire is hot, bright, without smoke and is different from everything I've smelled before. The fire in the oven, and slightly smells of ignition fluid, but this only adds realism to the whole picture. Evokes instant feeling of warmth".
(Ekaterina Vasilyeva)
"Fire seemed to start with spice and flowers, and basically in a few seconds showed smoky and clear vetiver. Very subtle warmth, smouldering coals, wet smoke. I saw the night shore, night forest or meadow, fading fire, the early summer. Somehow I hear jasmine and summer herbs and flowers, a bit sultry. And absolutely calm relaxation comes to mind".
(Mila Verbova)
"Fire is my favorite here. Very realistic, so warm, smoky and woody. Of course, this is not Fire itself, but its message to those who want to come closer. The element at its best!"
(Elena Postnikova)
This fire is not natural but human made. Set fire and got scared. Very restless fragrance".
(Elena Klimanova)
«Quite mono rockrose in gasoline and musk frame and with sooty undertone. Feels like Anarchist by Caron, definitely very likely. Explosive substance. It can ignite with the smallest flash. Very elemental thing, strikes with its primitive beauty. A bit of fir needles and soil close to the base».
(Lark123sib)
«Fire is simple and nice. Almost mono perfume of burning, burned tree, smoked lard skin with singed hairs on it. Sits close to skin, quietly and peaceful – everything that could burn, has already burned. Like you pass on the place where the fire was and inhale the air trying to catch this beautiful smoky essence of the burning, when the fire eats everything taking in the colors of its food. But nothing is left and all the smells are mixed up. The smell is rather persistent and subsides gradually on you without noticeable changing. Maybe it becomes more woody».
(Zoya Grigoryeva, Dead whore7)
«Cloud of spice. Smoke of burning spice and well dried wood. Cloud of cinnamon. I see loud oriental market with people in multicolored clothes. Midday, very hot. And dry. The town in the sands. The voice of lazy hot wind tells about fata morganas of desert and ancient cities drowned in the sands of time. And of treasures still kept by these cities safe. And of eternal immortal flame burning under changing cloth of the desert».
(Nina Novitskaya)

The Elements

Air

Стихии воздух Acidica perfumes

Watercolor by Elena Pilgun
Description: 100% natural, oriental, flowery, spicy

Main notes: rose, jasmin, sandalwood, nard, saffron

Initially the element of Air was presented with two fragrances in this collection: the Air of South and the Air of North. The strongest one survived. Air is hot, exotic, with rosebud in its heart and yellow zest of saffron and sandalwood. Warm greeting from eternal traveler, bringing either the smell of flowering gardens or the warm wood of sandalwood forest or cool wind from distant mountains.
Feedback on Air
"Of course, Air can be different, it is the most changeable,"fizgig" substance. Like many others, I imagined Air to be fresh, light, blue and like ozone. The Air by Acidica might be a good match for the Danelia movie Kinzaza. It seems right the air from that planet".
(Elena Postnikova)
"Air starts with orris powder and transforms to the smell of wet mist. Thick and gray. Beautiful!"
(Ekaterina Vasilyeva)
"Air from the vial covered me with the smell of spicy curry. I've just cooked curry with vegetables today and got this deja vu. But the feeling of oriental market did not leave me later: some spice, patchouli or much alike mold smell. I don't know why this is called Air. Except that this is the air from the burned gasoline station. The ash washed in the rain, growing mold, the gypsies arrived and started to sing and to cook pilaf. Or whatever they cook ".
(Elena Klimanova)
"Totally unexpected version of Air for me. This Air is partly hostile and it seems to be the air of war or crossfire in the East. Bitter spicy smell, reminds of a bitter and important medicine you have to swallow, with a hint of dust or powder, with special vegetable flavour. Monotonous and simple fragrance seems beautiful to me. I like its bitterness. As time passes, the spices calm down, soften and here you have saffron theme or alike spice that creates the seriousness and concentration and is associated with violet and purple. There seems to be some dusty patchouli. In the end stays only quiet rough woody spice, soft memory of the past, quite gone with time and atmosphere.

Most of all I liked the start of both fragrances, Air and Earth, very unusual and vivid. And Air in total. It's a pity that fragrances are opening and sound on rather quietly. They stick close to skin. And Earth is not so breathtaking and exciting with time as in the beginning".
(Zoya Grigoryeva, Dead whore7)
"Calm fragrance. Spice plus soft sweetness. A hint of skin creme, creamy white and a bit fat. Round fragrance. I definitely feel flowers here. Probably jasmine without indol, soft. Even some subtle freshness, maybe from that same jasmine. Frankly feminine".
(Nina Novitskaya)
«The concept from other land, though of all the Elements this one sounds the closest to perfume classic – many vintage good perfumes have similar spicy wood in base. Hot midday haze with dusty and powdery context. In the end spicy santal, and this is the only objective thing I can say of the contents. Starts with sour flowery chord with a full scale of nuances and tints but nothing is definite to say – here is an orris, for example. Or a peony. Something anise-like and a taste of geranium. And maybe there is rose. Hot and dry according to the feelings. Sumum from the desert that covered the arabian market and pulled about the goods on the stalls. We never have air like that.

The Elements

Water

Стихии Вода Acidica perfumes
Стихии Вода Acidica perfumes открытка Елена Пильгун
Watercolor by Elena Pilgun
Description: 100% natural, fresh, wet, flowery

Main notes: mimosa, chrysanthemum, myrrh, elemi

Slow, emotional and mysterious Water smells of bitter chrysanthemum, dark and cold pool with water lilies, hiding someone unnamed in its obscure depth. Someone sees here the sea landscape with lazy wooden boats relaxing in the sand and rusty hips of algae licked by the waves.

Feedback on Water

"It smells to me of fir-tree. Aquatic tincture of fir needles. Enjoyable".
(Elena Postnikova)
"Sun flares on the waves, algae draining in the sun and the boats, sun, the heat – everything is in there. It seems that you can hear the cries of seagulls, if it becomes quiet. Very realistic and meditative".
(Ekaterina Vasilyeva)
"Starting with co baked with lemon. Later fishy smell gets quiet but does not disappear, lemon and some subtile flowers stay longer. Maybe that's how the Little Mermaid smelled. Alien. That's why the Prince did not… And maybe the mute girl in «The Shape of Water» smelled this way, I forgot her name. Who was with the sea monster".
(Elena Klimanova)
"The start is juicy green, a bit spicy. Mowed swamp herbs. Seeds of fennel covered with dew come next. Then the fragrance gets warmer and even bitter dry. I imagine the dried tarn flowers. In total the fragrance is changeable, it grows fresh and then dry and it shows well the fluctuative nature of the element of water. I won't try to name the notes, but, besides herbs I hear dried seeds and bitter mugwort and flowers of the fall".
(Mila Verbova)
«I give up, I can't name even approximately the combination of notes to make such paradoxical sounding. The only I can say is in the end of base notes it has some knd of resin, too. Spicy and sweet resin. Very spicy salty and metallic iodide start. When you clean the fresh fish, it smells alike. Maybe some kind of algae? And high umbrella plant like angelica, it grows here in Taiga – its top smels very similar, spicy and musky. In fact, this perfume starts of full immersion in the atmosphere of southern sea town – fisher ships full of fish and so on. Gets quieter closer to the base – very pleasant resins are left. A riddle of a perfume!»
(Lark123sib)
«Starts with stunning strike of iodine and salt crystals. Instantly a question appears – how should one wear it? Not even wear but stand for some time. Very poisonous in the worst sense. I had the same feelings from a blotter with М/Mink by Byredo, but that fragrance finally sat on skin in peculiar way. As for this fragrance, it just calms down, sits on my wrist more comfortably and starts pickling fish there, using citrus. Maybe this is lemon juice, I'm not that good in cooking. Citrus and salty physicality covered with fish. Very abstract fish, not true flesh, but a metaphor of the fishy smell if somebody put its pieces on your skin.
As time goes by, the abstract fish image washes out so much it is hardly noticeable at all, and only something warm and tasty with salt and citrus is left. This feeling is rather pleasant, but all the same I can't imagine the mood I could wear this in, and it is not so good for me to want to wear it and inhale in the future.
Too much craft for me to call it the element. I recommend it a lot to the fans of salty physicality, cooking, fish and sudden olfactory impressions».
(Zoya Grigoryeva, Dead whore7)
"Water. At first this water is very hot for me. Dragon's lair, a geyser. A lot of thick herbs, looks like someone has thrown freshly cut resinous fir branches in this font. And at the same time wide spreading leaves of some tropical trees. A lot of strong hot spice. Something woody. Not aquatic, dry fragrance. Smoky, like someone is birning incense. Wild fiery water. It is somehow fascinating. This fragrance is congenial to me, because my Element is Water. Exactly like this. Introversive fragrance, out of gender, more of manly nature. This is still water and somebody is definitely dwelling under its surface…" (Nina Novitskaya)

The Elements

Earth

Стихии Земля Acidica Perfumes
Стихии Земля Acidica Perfumes открытка Елена Пильгун
Watercolor by Elena Pilgun
Description: 100% natural, woody, herbal

Main notes: mitti, rue, cedarwood, cardamom, nard

The calmest and the most fundamental of all the Elements, Earth is never in a rush. It smells of slightly dusty road, warmed with the sun, and of the harvest, reminding of prosperity, beauty of the nature and paths to the horizon.

Feedback on Earth

"Earth smells of clay and dried apricot. Unexpected combination, I can't say I like it".
(Ekaterina Vasilyeva)
"Warm Earth of spring, already heated by the sun, still wet and ready to take in the seeds".
(Elena Postnikova)
"Earth started like a bitter medicine or some oriental mixture. Very soon the fragrance revealed soft tarn herbs on the fir needles and patchouli underlay. Very languid and rounded composition, light embrace, soft hands, something maternal. Later the fragrance becomes dry, the dust of roads and slightly bitter memories appear".
(Mila Verbova)
«Amazing and very interesting thing. Maybe the only of the five Elements set which contents I can guess a little – too difficult to get it with the rest … Here is the clear note of attar Mitti from India – the Hindu make it of broken clay smithers, they use everything, even the broken pieces. I have met it already in the mixtures. This is the core ingredient here. Plus, something remarkably resinous, and I suppose some patchouli. Cedarwood is present for sure, closer to the base. And something else, close to dried fruit. Osmanthus would give the leathery hint, so that's not it. Maybe davana? A kind of mystic but interesting one. In total the feeling of clay baked in the fire, sweet with dried fruit and with fir needle tints. Count Tolstoy would not probably like it – he was hetting high of fat wet black soil with earthworms. Comes out in the morning with bare feet, takes handfuls of black soil, inhales its smell deeply and praises the generous Russian soil. And for this Earth he would say that it would not suit to grow the rye. So this is the wild soil, predecessor to the count Tolstoy, earthworms and rye.
Very curious thing. And, by the way, very long lasting».
(Lark123sib)
«At first it seems real soil. Wet and mixed with chocoate truffles and citruses. Reminds of expensive chocolate with oranges. I have not enough time to appreciate this olfactory luxury – the mirage suddenly disappeared. No truffles with oranges, only some dry soil and flowery mist. In the end appears a sour nuance close to medicine. Air and Earth bases have something in common and it seems that they change places. I have a feeling that something purple sounds in the base, flowery and dry, with patchouli».
(Zoya Grigoryeva, Dead whore7)
"Earth. Painfully familiar sweetness. Generous fragrance – drunk fruit and spice, lots of fresh spice. With obvious physicality at the same time. I'd call it temptative. Earthly, carnal, alluring. Something fatty. Strong alcohol, not sweet with time. Rum? Dances in the fire light in the glory of the Fertility Goddess. Walking bare foot on the earth. And naked, it seems))) Inspite all of it the fragrance seems to be for men".

The Elements

Blade

Стихии Клинок Acidica perfumes
Стихии Клинок Acidica perfumes открытка акварель Елена Пильгун
Description: 100% natural, fresh, herbal, citrus

Main notes: geranium, thyme, frankincense, cedarwood, mandarine

The spirit of metal, strict and sound, combines opposites: discreet incense and geranium and passionate thyme. Sharp and piercing as the blade is, this fragrance makes you feel the metal taste in the mouth and clears up the mind.
Watercolor by Elena Pilgun

Feedback on Blade

"The Blade… By the way, why is the Blade an Element? Indeed, it is the element, but not one of those. The blades don't appear on their own, they are made by human. I don't get it. In the perfume I felt mostly patchouli, mint (or lemon balm). Is it there or not, I don't know, I just describe what I've heard. If one concentrates, he'll smell the just grounded knife. In my opinion and nose this one is the less balanced fragrance of the series. In an hour it showed some thyme".
(Elena Klimanova)
"Blade perfectly shows the shining, sharp cold grey metal. At first a note falls apart of the others, looks like geranium. But later everything unites in the whole silvery flood. Be careful, it is very intensive".
(Ekaterina Vasilyeva)
"Blade tastes of blood and bright citrus at the start. Sparkling, piercing and a bit anxious fragrance. Later shows tea note with herbs.
Looks like hot herbal tea or warming tea in cold weather on Christmas market in a small town. Fragrance of active fun, bright and exciting".
(Mila Verbova)
"Blade is cruel as it should be. It has hit me in the throat. Very intensive. Come closer to it carefully, start tasting from the distance and little by little".
(Elena Postnikova)
"Very familiar medicine smell from childhood. I tried to remember where did I meet it constantly. Now I understand that this is the smell of my nasal drops. Cold medicine green. It seems that my nose cleared up, maybe this is autosuggestion.
As time goes by, I feel something metallic, but the fragrance is getting quieter with all its herbal bitterness".
(Zoya Grigoryeva, Dead whore7)
"Sharp mint of cedar needle. This is really a blade, no need to argue. Aldehydes? Dry and seems a bit powdery, but this is a powder of dried herbs. My ears even got numb like on the plane flying high. Stingy sharp herbs. And something metallic, but not blood they often call metallic. In some other way, hard to explain. With time the perfume becomes sweeter, one should be attentive to find it. Strange fragrance, a niche one like Comme des Garcons".
(Nina Novitskaya)
"I don't like geranium in general, specially, in some combinations, with lavender for example. It really makes me suffocate then. Here is really starts with citrus and geranium, but it sounds quite humane to me. By the way, these citruses really show metallic notes. Reminds of GIT by Creed – there is clear and tangible metallic lime, and here are similar notes, not lime but closer to bergamot. In my opinion and taste the base is the most beautiful here of all the five Elements. Frankincense and cedarwood. Just frankincense and cedarwood, but they are very tasty, though no trace of metal here".
